Little Miss Contestants 2008
The Buena Vista County Fair Board invites you to enter the BV Co. Fair Little Miss Pageant to be held at the fair Sunday, July 19, 2009.
The pageant is emphasized as a fun-filled day of events and the opportunity for the girls to meet other girls throughout the county rather than a competitive activity. The winner will be eligible to represent Buena Vista County at the state pageant. However, the decision and the cost of participating at the state level will be the contestant’s responsibility.
Contestants must be between the ages of 5 and 8 as of September 15, 2009, and must also be a resident of Buena Vista County to be eligible for the contest. Each girl will be judged on personality, poise, and beauty. The judges will be looking for the neat, natural, attractive, typical little girl, not a miniature adult.
Judging will take place on Saturday, July 18 at a time and place to be announced.
To enter, fill out the form below and mail to: Little Miss Pageant, C/O Amy Meyer, 637 560th, Alta, IA 51002 no later than June 9, 2009, and make an appointment with Shannon at Emagination Gallery at 732-4769. Pictures will be taken June 16, 17, & 18 only. All contestants must have photos taken on one of these days as the photos will be used for pre-pageant publicity.

Queen Pageant
Queen Pageant Contestants '08
Interviews and judging will take place Friday, July 17, 2009. Coronation will be Sunday, July 19, 2009 following the Little Miss Pageant. The winner will compete for the Iowa State Fair Queen. All interested contestants must pre-register by June 12, 2009 by contacting Amy Meyer, 712-284-1007 or jameyer@ncn.net, or Amanda Meyer (712) 229-9234. Pictures will be taken June 16, 17, & 18 only. Contact Shannon at Emagination Gallery at 732-4769 to make an appointment. All contestants must have photos taken on one of these days as the photos will be used for pre-pageant publicity.
RULES
- Each contestant must be at least 16 years of age and not more than 21 years of age by August 10, 2009.
- Contestants must never have been married or have had children.
- Contestants must live in, attend school in, or be involved in activities in Buena Vista County.
- Each contestant must be an active member in at least one service organization in her community, such as a church group, 4-H, Girl Scouts, etc. (Eligibility is not limited to 4-H membership.)
- No professional models are eligible.
- Registration deadline is June 12, 2009.
- The queen must be available to attend all fair activities designated by the Buena Vista County Fair Board and anything endorsed by the queen must be approved by the fair board.
- The Buena Vista County Fair Queen Pageant Committee reserves the right to change the foregoing rules and regulations at any time.
- The winning contestant must be available to attend the 2009 Iowa State Fair Pageant in Des Moines, August 11-15.
- The winning contestant will be responsible for transportation to and from Des Moines and in all parades.
